Orchestra resumes this Friday. Looking forward to getting back into it.  We will be in H1 because of the hall being set up for Oliver! Chamber Music: This will be focussing mainly on the strings we need to provide for the Jazz Evening.  We would like the following string players involved: Tamsin Sandford Smith Mae Lankshear Bethany Lincoln Lauren Cross Matilda Green Sadie Keaveney Michael Winter  Matika Flatau-Brown Zak Smith We will be rehearsing until 4pm on most Fridays.  The Jazz evening is on Saturday 25th February. It will be really good to get a solid string section together. Looking forward to it.

Here is a link to the scene from Amadeus in which your piece is featured: Here is the movement in full: Looking forward to working on this "rusty squeezebox'. Listen to how the instruments emerge from the texture in turn. The hard work will be to consider the balance between you all. Salieri hit the nail on the head - you should watch Amadeus if you haven't already.

Apologies for the delay, but here goes. After Orchestra, we will all return to H Block for Chamber Music Fridays. Let's say I am trying to emulate a mini 'Music School' without the tuck shop.  This will run from 3.30-4/4.15pm. Wind Ensemble will go in H1, a String Trio in H2 and another in a practice room and a Flute Trio in one of the practice rooms (good piano).  The aim is not only to produce high quality chamber music, but for you to get a sense of what it is like to rehearse in an intimate atmosphere, and interact musically on a smaller scale.  Chamber music is one of the most joyful musical forms and I am excited about getting it going properly at Beaumont.  If you are not on the list below, please approach me with ideas - we can have many more groups going eventually.  The idea is that the type of group changes each term. Music and recordings to follow. Wind Ensemble: Katie D Bethany Alex J Rhiannon Georgina Hannah Clem Ethan Mr...
