Hairspray auditions!

As we are approaching the new academic year, I think it's now time to start thinking about our forthcoming production of Hairspray! The dates of the auditions are as follows:

Friday 4 September: 2.40pm onwards
Years 7-9 in the Hall – Dancing
Years 10-11 in the Music block – Singing

Monday 7 September: 3.25pm onwards
Years 7-9 in the Music block – Singing
Year 10-11 in the Hall – Dancing

Wednesday 9 September: 3.25pm
All Sixth form auditions – meet in the Hall

Recalls will take place on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 September – times to be arranged.

We are looking for a large cast with a wide range of talents and abilities so everyone who wants to take part needs to come to both the Singing and the Dancing audition – please don’t just attend one of them. Energy, enthusiasm and commitment are as important as talent!

You need to be able to commit to the rehearsal schedule below if you want to be in the cast. Rehearsals should only be missed in exceptional circumstances so that we can make this a …

MGM Proms

I haven't had the chance to blog my recommendations for this season, but you must catch Saturday's MGM Prom while you can. A fabulous night of reconstructed scores of some classic MGM films, including Singing in the Rain, High Society and many more. The luscious orchestrations by John Wilson (all by just watching watching the films for hours) were performed fantastically by John Wilson and his orchestra.
