Vocal Ensemble Spring 2016

Congratulations on a fantastic service.  You were all incredible.

Please swing by the Music Department tomorrow to collect next term's music. Don't have a huge hissy fit over it, the big works are joint with Carillon so you will be fine. I would love you to to listen to the music along with the scores and just familiarise yourself with the sound worlds of Finzi and Bairstow. Lush stuff.
Here is the playlist:

The Rhinegold GCSE Revision Guide is excellent and well worth it. You can get it in paperback, for Kindle, and your mobile devices. The electronic version is interactive, and you can search for key words etc. The price is well worth it, and we would encourage you to consider purchasing. Click here to view all options.

Male Voice Choir: Words

Verse 1 (Low voices):

Still, still, still,
The child's eyes softly close.
And Mary, breathless,
Draws him, weeping,
To her heard made pure for keeping.
Still, still, still,
His bright eyes softly close.

Verse 2 (High voices):

Sing, sing, sing,
He hears and sweetly smiles.
And kneeling, Joseph joins in chorus
With the angels bending o'er us.
Sing, sing, sing,
He hears and sweetly smiles.

Verse 3 (Low voices, tune)

Sleep, sleep, sleep,
He breathes a tender sigh,
For soon he'll wake the world from slumber,
Bringing life and endless wonder,
Sleep, sleep, sleep,
He breathes a tender sigh.

Verse 3 (High voices, descent)

Sleep, sleep, O sleep,
He breathes a sigh,
For soon he'll wake
rom slumber,
Bringing life and endless wonder,
Sleep, sleep, O sleep,
He breathes a tender sigh.

Ending (all voices):

Sleep, Holy Jesus, sleep, sleep, sleep.
