Hello people! The start of term is nearly upon us, and while I don't want you to think about school during your last weekend of freedom, you do need to know a few things about how the extra-curricular timetable will work this year. The Extra-Curricular Timetable A copy of the timetable can be found here , at the bottom of this blog post, and it will be up in the department when you get back. Please note a few change, notably that CHOIR WILL NOW RUN ON MONDAY LUNCHTIMES. We can't wait to start all our groups again. Auditions and the first week back No clubs will run in the first week back, EXCEPT ORCHESTRA which will run on Friday. The second week back, it all kicks off big time! There will be auditions for the Vocal Ensemble and Training Ensemble after school on Wednesday, for information see the blog post here , or come and talk to Mr Guinane on Tuesday. Big Band auditions will happen in due course. If you have any questions, feel free to tweet us @BeaumontMusic ...

Well done to everyone who came to Concert Band for the first rehearsal of the year! Welcome to new members from Year 7 and of course those who have joined us from other year groups too.   Copacobana will sound fab...if you actually know how it goes.  Below is the Barry Manilow's video as well as the famous tune Birdland  which we will start next week too.  Enjoy getting to know them both!

The first sectional rehearsal in the history of Concert Band (since 2006, anyway...): Flutes, oboes, clarinets = HALL (Sarah and Chloe, please lead) Saxes, horns and trombones = Room 31 (Ben, please lead) Trumpets = Room 30 (Miss Doan to lead) Basses, Bassoons  = Practice Room (Becky please lead) Percussion = Drum room (Luke please lead) That's everyone isn't it? Please work on both pieces until 8.20am and tidy everything away when you have finished in your respective rooms.

There will be NO Concert Band this week (Tuesday 6th) due to a late night at SASSMA the night before.  Rehearsals will resume next week. For SASSMA details, please click here .

We will start next week, giving our new Year 7s time to join in for the first rehearsal of the year!
