Hi there, I thought I would publish some brief details about the busy Christmas schedule for Beaumont Music: Saturday 6th December: BSA Christmas Fair, Beaumont School, 11am - 2pm Head down to Beaumont School's annual Christmas Fair. As well as the usual stalls and games, you will be treated to seasonal music from BCubed (Beaumont Brass Band) and our Training Ensemble (other performers TBC). Tuesday 9th December: Christmas Concert, Beaumont School Hall, 7pm Join us for an evening of music from all of Beaumont's many ensembles. You will hear festive tunes, pop songs and classical masterpieces from a range of groups across the school. Tickets £4/£2, available on the door. Wednesday 17th December: Carol Service, St. Peter's Church, St Albans, 7pm Beaumont School's Choir and Vocal Ensemble will lead a traditional Christmas Service, featuring a range of exquisite vocal music. Apologies for not being in today's lesson. Please do the following for next week: 1) Listen to 1st movement from Mozart's Piano Sonata in B flat, K333 (in the anthology); 2) Do some research on Sonata Form. Please come up with approximately half a page (no more); about the structure and keys 3) If possible, apply sonata form to the Mozart, labelling the sections and keys where possible. Due on Wednesday 19th November

What a lovely first rehearsal today! Here is a wonderful performance of Corelli's Christmas Concerto. The playing is divine, though I am not a massive fan of the decorations on repeat. Below is a very different performance along with the score, which you might enjoy. I will have a think about which movements we will rehearse.
