Sunday 10th February

15:15 Arrive at HOTEL MOZART, time to unpack and relax

19:00 Evening meal at hotel (first meal included)

20:00 Short meeting, relax and early night after the long journey


Monday 11th February

07:30 Breakfast. Collect lunch packages afterwards.

08:00 Depart for Mozarthaus Vienna
09:00 Start of self-guided tour.

10:00 End of self-guided tour. Time for some time around Vienna, etc.

12:45 Meeting point St. Stephen’s Cathedral

13:00 Lunch time concert in the cathedral

13:30 End of concert. Time to go shopping (Wiener Kaertnerstrasse and Graben
are excellent shopping streets with plenty of restaurants and Cafes) or relax
in a traditional Viennese Kaffeehaus.

16:00 Depart by coach for Hotel Schloss Wilhelminenberg

17:00 Time to set up and rehearse.

18:00 Concert.

19:30 Depart for hotel.
20:00 Evening meal.

Tuesday 12th February

08:00 Breakfast at hotel, collect lunch packages.

09:30 Depart for Haus der Musik

11:00 Start of self-guided tour around Haus der Musik

13:00 End of tour. Time for lunch. Afterwards, time to set up and rehearse.

14:00 Concert for Orchestra and Concert Band at Haus der Musik.

15:00 End of concert

16:00 Sightseeing options. TBC. Kunsthaus Wien or Vienna Prater

18:00 Depart for hotel

19:00 Meal, leisure time.


Wednesday 13th February

08:00 Breakfast at hotel. Collect packed lunches.

09:00 Depart for Schloss Esterhazy.

10:00 Arrive at Schloss Esterhazy.

10:30 Start tour

12:00 End of tour. Time for lunch and to stroll around Eisenstadt.

15:00 Depart for Bad Tatzmannsdorf

16:30 Arrive at Bad Tatzmannsdorf. Early dinner.

18:30 Time to set up and rehearse.

19:30 Concert at the Catholic Church.

20:30 End of concert. Depart for hotel.

22:30 Arrive at hotel.

Thursday 14th February

08:00 Breakfast. Collect lunch packages afterwards. Afterwards time to pack, final look around Vienna centre.

12:00 Depart.


Friday 15th February

08:00 Ferry crossing from Calais (times to be confirmed)

11:45 Arrive in St Albans

These guys turn 50 this year. Obviously none of them is 50 years old, but if you don't know this group, then you should get to know them. Formed in 1968, this all six-piece male vocal ensemble have made a name for their stunning singing, ranging from Renaissance polyphony to arrangement of more current hits. For me, I have always loved going through the huge numbers of arrangements that they have made available to us. Most of them are really approachable by the amateur ensemble, and over the years, some of their arrangements have become real Vocal Ensemble favourites. I try to make a point of teaching And So it Goes  to every cohort, and this, along with Lonesome Road and She's Always a Woman  will remain very dear to past and present members' hearts. The King's Singers have recently released Gold , a three-album compilation to celebrate their 50th Anniversary. Listen to it here . Summer Concert Information

The Summer Concert is on Tuesday 18th July. A very detailed Parent Mail has been sent - please make sure your parents have checked it. On the day, we will meet at 1205 (start of P5) in Music. Make sure you have all your music, instruments, and a packed lunch. Bring water . We will go by coach to St. Paul's Church, Blandford Road, and rehearse all afternoon. If you are in Year 11 or 13, you may make your own way there, be there latest 1245, but earlier if you want to be helpful. You will be making your way home from St. Paul's at 1525, so please let us know asap if this is going to be a problem. You will need to be back at St. Paul's for 6.30pm, in Summer Uniform (black or black and white for Yr11 and above). Any questions to Music Captains. It is going to be a great concert. Your task: In your houses, prepare a performance of: Bob Marley - Three Little Birds and A song of your choice You will select one piece to perform to Miss Doan and Mr Guinane (before lunch), and  select one to perform to your peers this afternoon. The rules: 1. Everyone in the house must make a significant contribution to both performances 2. Be considerate, and share equipment between houses, organising rotas if  necessary 3.
