Homework: Your task is to choose one of the Kindertotenlieder to present to the class, ensuring you cover the following:



  1. the composer’s interpretation of the text, through techniques of word setting

  2. the expressive use of tonality in this interpretation

  3. the contribution of the accompaniment to the interpretation

  4. features of interpretation in the performance

You may sing/use the piano as part of your presentation or deliver it via PowerPoint. Please email any handouts for the class to me by Thursday 17th September by 10pm. You will present on Friday 18th September.
