The end of term is here! Well done to everybody who contributed to the Music Department this year. We have had a fantastic year, performed some brilliant concerts and produced some wonderful music. Well done. A particular well done to everyone involved in the Summer Concert on Tuesday. The conditions were harsh, but you did not let that detract from your musicianship or professionalism. You were all a credit to the school. Have a wonderful summer, get some rest and relax. Listen to as much music as possible, try to see a concert or a prom, and tell us about what you did in September. We will endeavour to tweet at regular intervals during the holidays, but #beaumontbedtimelistening will not be as regular as it is during term time. Right, this is how this is going to work. Vocal Ensemble &  Training Ensemble On Wednesday 4th September (yes, the first day back), after school, we will be holding auditions for places in our two advanced singing ensembles, the Vocal Ensemble and Training Ensemble. There is no need to sign-up, just arrive after school on the Wednesday. We would welcome auditions from singers of any voice as we will make decisions about who will gain places in which ensemble based on the quality of auditions. Anyone wishing to audition must demonstrate a long-standing commitment to the choir, members of this year's Training Ensemble are encouraged to audition for the Vocal Ensemble, and will be given preference when deciding places. However, i f an audition is deemed to be outstanding, we will consider a position in the Vocal Ensemble. The panel will be comprised of Mr Guinane, our new teacher Miss Beaton, and a music captain. Dear Guitar Ensemble members/potential members, As you know, Guitar Ensemble has not run for a number of weeks. Unfortunately, due to the fact that I am currently the only Music teacher at Beaumont, it is not possible for me to run the number of clubs that usually takes two people. This means I am not able to run Guitar Ensemble this term. I WILL restart the ensemble in September however. Apologies to all members for this, but unfortunately it is unavoidable.
