Well done to the Vocal Ensemble for Friday's rehearsal - I know you were all really tired and you did very well. However, you all know there are bits of the Dove that you found difficult, so you must find the time now to listen to the music and work rectify the errors. You can certainly do it, but please spend a bit of time on it. Below are two credible versions on YouTube and Spotify respectively. Enjoy. Learn, learn, learn! Year 13 Homework: Thursday 6th October

Make notes on the following aspects of the final movement of Corelli's Op.3 no. 2: Harmony (consider use of a variety of chords, cadences and even dissonances) Melody (how is the opening motif explored? what about sequences etc?) Rhythm and Metre (this is gigue style - how does the rhythm and metre reflect this? Are there syncopations etc?) You need to bring the notes for discussion and pooling of ideas for next Thursday's lesson.

This is what is happening this week! Monday lunch: Anastasia and Beth with HDo Monday: Adele = polish River and finish World was dancing - performance standard please Tuesday: Flying home - Chris, Tulsi , Alex, Anna, Beth, Emily, Emma & Chloe. We have meetings so Emma, Emily, Anna please talk to each other and work out how you are going to teach everyone what they need to know. I will give you copies labelled up with who is singing what part. I will leave my phone for Audioboos too! Wednesday lunch: Room 29 - Rosie with ZSh . Thursday: Block Flying Home . Learn Final transition, block Final Transition and block Hear my song . The following people are in the Final Transition: Nev, Niamh , Anna, Amy, Belle, Rosie, Chloe & Anastastia . Sunday 9 th October 2011 at 2pm-5pm - Sitz Probe: FULL CAST AND BAND (this is a run through with the band) 7pm - Songs from the West End . No need to buy tickets for yourselves. You need to do some research into the Arcangelo Corelli (1652-1713). Please cover the following: His output - the types of compositions and the forces for which he wrote Some background about his life including details of any patrons and employers. To whom did Corelli dedicate his Op. 3 Trio Sonatas? What is a Sonata da Chiesa ? Give details about the order of the movements What is a Sonata da Camera?
